5. Courses and Activities Organized by NCUE’s Bilingual Research Center-Related

To provide pre-service teachers and in-service teachers with opportunities for professional growth in bilingual teaching, NCUE's Bilingual Teaching Research Center organized multiple bilingual teaching-related lectures and workshop activities in 2025, including the Seminar on Bilingual Education and English Enhancement on 16 July 2025, at which bilingual teachers were invited to share teaching experiences and explain how to use AI software to assist bilingual teaching. These activities trained pre-service teachers and in-service teachers to use software effectively to enhance course design skills.

Additionally, we organize bilingual class observations and bilingual experimental teaching demonstrations from time to time, allowing pre-service teachers to understand real-life teaching situations and learn how to prepare while still studying, thereby developing their bilingual teaching competencies. NCUE will continue to work in accordance with the Ministry of Education’s plans to support the implementation of the 2030 bilingual policy and enhance teachers' English proficiency (Figure 11).

6. On 24 October 2025, NCUE's Science Education Center, College of Science and College of Engineering jointly organized the 2025 Science Fun Day.

NCUE has held Science Fun Day since 2016 and expanded it from 2021. In 2025 more than ten schools partnering with NCUE's science popularization projects took part and over 500 people attended; community residents could also register on the day. National Changhua Girls' Senior High School has run the hands-on science stalls for many years and helps deliver the activities. Because the event is held alongside NCUE's anniversary fair, it is livelier than a typical academic event and draws students, faculty and members of the public. For this edition, the College of Science and the College of Engineering prepared science activities in three zones built around everyday life: the Science Magic Zone, the Science Adventure Zone and the Science Exploration Zone. The College of Science also opened its laboratories, where graduate students explained current research in accessible terms so that visitors could see what scientific research involves and students could use it when planning their studies. Rural schools were invited and their coach fares subsidized, giving them a stage to show their own characteristics, the competency-based teaching of pre-service teachers and their students’ learning achievements. Elementary, junior high and senior high schools in the Taichung, Changhua and Nantou area that work closely with NCUE also took part, including Chenggong Junior High School, Feisha Junior High School, Ching Cheng High School, Donghua Junior High School, Hsienhsi Junior High School, Daan Junior High School, Dacheng Junior High School and Tianjhong High School. The activities span many fields of science but are pitched so that elementary, junior high and senior high school students can experience science for themselves. Through the event, NCUE aims to bring the public closer to science and to show that scientific knowledge is not confined to textbooks: people can learn science through everyday life and learn about everyday life through science. It also helps build a better educational environment for children in rural Changhua, in line with the educational goal of achieving success for every child (Figure 12).
