SDG 12.2.8 Minimisation policies extended to suppliers

NCUE has consistently encouraged participants to bring their own reusable cups and tableware to meetings, training sessions, and events organized by its units. In accordance with the Ministry of Environment's ‘Guidelines for Government Agencies and Schools to Reduce the Use of Disposable Tableware and Packaged Drinking Water’, NCUE works to reduce the use of these single-use items. In 2023, NCUE held 694 in-person meetings, training sessions, and events. Reusable containers and tableware were used to serve 3,543 meals, and packaged drinking water and paper cups were not provided for 51,209 participant attendances. In 2024, 697 in-person meetings, training sessions, and events were held. Reusable containers and tableware were used to serve 2,824 meals, and packaged drinking water and paper cups were not provided for 37,488 participant attendances. In 2025, 634 in-person meetings, training sessions, and events were held. Reusable containers were used to serve 1,442 meals, and packaged drinking water and paper cups were not provided for 14,268 participant attendances, as shown in Figure 1.
