SDG 6.4.1 Water reuse policy

1. To manage water resources, NCUE monitors the conductivity and pH of its three campus wells. Water quality sensors collect real-time data and transmit them over the Internet to the water resources monitoring system, which allows NCUE to manage the water quality of its wells effectively and to allocate and use the well water optimally.

2. NCUE requires all new buildings to meet Green Building Label requirements. Every building completed after 2003 has a rainwater harvesting tank. The harvested rainwater is used for sprinkler irrigation in an effective manner. In line with the government’s green building policy, NCUE has planned and designed all new buildings to green building standards since 2003. The Academic Main Hall (Teaching Building) on Jinde Campus obtained a Green Building Candidate Certificate, and other new buildings have since obtained Green Building Label Certificates, including the College of Engineering Building, the Wang Jin-Ping Activity Center, and Student Dorm 10, as well as Science Building I and Xuanli Stadium, both of which will be completed in 2025. Table 1 lists the green buildings and their certificates, and Figures 1–12 show each building and its certificate. Science Building II, now under construction, is applying for a Green Building Label.
