SDG 7.2.6

SDG 7.2.6 Divestment policy

1. The global economy has stabilized and is recovering, though investment remains subject to uncertainties arising from U.S.-China competition, geopolitical risks, and other factors. Out of prudence, NCUE's 2025 investment plan is as follows (Figure 1):

  1. (1) NCUE places time deposits (including foreign currency time deposits) with public and private financial institutions to earn stable interest income. It combines short-term and long-term deposits to keep funds flexible and minimize idle demand deposit balances.
  2. (2) Foreign Currency Deposits: NCUE continuously monitors foreign exchange market conditions, placing time deposits to obtain higher interest, or buying and selling foreign currency when exchange rates fluctuate—in accordance with the exchange rate standards and limits set at Investment Management Team meetings—in order to earn exchange gains.
  3. (3) Investment in Securities: Given that bond ETFs carry lower risk than equities, representing a relatively secure and worthwhile investment, NCUE has initially selected U.S. Treasury bond ETFs as its target asset.
  4. (4) In summary, NCUE's funds are not invested in carbon-intensive energy industries.
