SDG11.4.1 Sustainable practices targets-2021

1. UBIKE settings

The area outside the Main Entrance of NCUE’s Jin-de Campus has been leased from Changhua County Government to set up UBIKE since 28 June 2014. The lease expired on 6 January 2021, and the term was renewed from 7 January 2021 to 31 December 2023. UBIKE is an electronic unmanned automatic bicycle rental management system. It provides a bicycle rental service. The hope is for bicycles to be used as the last-mile connecting tool of public transportation systems, thereby encouraging more teachers and students to use public transportation systems, achieving the purpose of environmental protection and energy saving, and creating a brand-new commuting culture.

2. Provide parking or storage facilities for bicycles and motorcycles: Bicycle and motorcycle parking sheds (racks) and compartments are set up on the campus of NCUE for the faculty, staff, and students to use free of charge. There are sufficient parking spaces for 1,722 bicycles and 3,469 motorcycles.

3. Professor Liang-jui Chen of NCUE implemented the Ministry of Science and Technology's plan, the ‘Research and Exhibition of Multiple Microgrids in the Actual Field of High-proportion Solar Photoelectric Environments ’. To reinforce the resources of this plan, it is estimated that RAC Electric Vehicles Inc. will sell electric buses to NCUE at a preferential price lower than the market price in 2021. These buses can not only be used for green energy field experiments, but also for official document delivery and by students commuting between the two campuses of NCUE.

3.
