SDG11.4.2 Promote sustainable commuting-2021

1. Provide preferential-price parking lots and  transportation services to and from the two campuses.

1.1 All full-time faculty and staff members of NCUE can apply for regular parking and enjoy a preferential monthly rental rate, which benefits the faculty and staff commuting to work.

1.2 NCUE provides shuttle bus services to and from the two campuses every semester. The demand for the shuttle bus service is checked three times  every semester (before the start of the semester and at the beginning of the semester), and the frequency of the buses is adjusted and arranged according to the students' needs to match their time of traveling to and from school. The buses regularly depart to and from the two campuses every day.

1.3 The underground parking lot of university’s Jin-de Campus is also accessible for the community or people outside the university to rent. Moreover, NCUE is located in Fuxing Li, and residents of Fuxing Li can enjoy a preferential monthly rental rate, but because of the limited parking space, a quota application method is adopted.

1.4 The following procedure applies to the faculty, staff, students, part-time teachers, teachers from schools that have teaching practice cooperation with NCUE, fifth-year students who return to the university for symposiums, alumni, people who are invited to attend conferences, seminars, or various competitions, people attending training classes, short-term trainees, and people outside the university who hold a ticket for the swimming pool on the same day for a specific period of time. If they have not applied for a parking permit, they will be entitled to a 50% discount on temporary parking fees upon presenting their service certificates, identification certificates, meeting notices, or student (staff) certificates.

 

2. Professor Liang-jui Chen of NCUE implemented the Ministry of Science and Technology's plan, the ‘Research and Exhibition of Multiple Microgrids in the Actual Field of High-proportion Solar Photoelectric Environments’. To reinforce the resources of this plan, it is estimated that RAC Electric Vehicles Inc. will sell electric buses to NCUE at a preferential price lower than the market price in 2021. These buses can not only be used for green energy field experiments, but also for official document delivery and by students commuting between the two campuses of NCUE.

2.
