SDG 17.2.5 Collaboration with NGOs for SDGs
NCUE actively collaborates with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for cross-institutional exchanges, signing relevant agreements or jointly implementing projects to achieve sustainable development policy goals. We have compiled a list of 8 instances of cooperation and exchange between our faculty and NGOs in 2023. These are detailed as follows:
1. Professor Yao Kai-chao from the Department of Industrial Education and Technology serves as a board member of the Kenda Foundation
In this role, Professor Yao assists in planning and implementing scholarships for underprivileged students and organizing summer science camps for elementary and middle school students. Photos of the activities are shown in Figures 1-2 below.

2. Professor Wang Min-hsing from the Graduate Institute of Rehabilitation Counseling serves as an executive director of the Taiwan Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals, assisting with the work of the policy committee.

3. Professor Yao Kai-chao from the Department of Industrial Education and Technology served as the Chief Supervisor of the International Society of Mechatronics Engineering and Technology (ISMETEK) in Taiwan.
In this role, Professor Yao assisted in managing and supporting the society's efforts to promote domestic and international academic research and organize conferences.

4. Professor Chen Ti-cheng from the Department of Industrial Education and Technology served as a board member of the Taiwan Society for Technology of Plasticity and participated in the 2022 and 2023 Taiwan Conference on Plastic Working.
During these conferences, Professor Chen was selected to be the General Chair of the 2024 Taiwan Conference on Plastic Working.

5. Professor Lin Chun-yu from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering served as a member of the Technical Committee for the Taiwan Photonics Conference. In this role, Professor Lin assisted in chairing meetings and reviewing papers.

6. Professor Chin Er-tsong from the Graduate Institute of Science Education served as a board member of the 8th Taiwan Mathematics Education Association. In this role, Professor Chin participated in board meetings to plan and execute the association's annual activities, aiming to promote the advancement of mathematics education in Taiwan.

7. Professor Pei-Hsuan Wei of the Department of Public Affairs and Civic Education served as the vice president of the Taiwan Association for Human Rights to assist in the planning and implementation of work related to human rights issues.

8. Several faculty members from our university, including Professor Wen Mei-chun, Professor Lin Shu-ying, Professor Tuan Hsiao-lin, and Professor Chien Sung-pei from the Graduate Institute of Science Education, and Professor Cheng Meng-tzu from the Department of Biology, served as board members for the 36th and 37th Chinese Association for Science Education.
In these roles, they assisted with the association's affairs and organize various workshops to achieve the goals of enhancing teacher capabilities and improving teaching methods.
