SDG 7.4.1 Local community outreach for energy efficiency
Through both government-funded and self-funded efforts, NCUE carries out sustained programs to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and clean energy among residents in the local community and students in neighboring schools, while implementing energy-saving and carbon-saving programs. For instance, NCUE's USR project "Sustainable Changhua: Green Energy Perspective in Education, Technology, and Economy" combines learning content on life science energy and power with the wind power generation characteristics of Changhua County. The project implementation items for 2023 are shown in Table 1.

In 2023, NCUE organized 3 energy and carbon inventory training courses and trained 24 NCUE teachers and students to obtain ISO14064 greenhouse gas inventory certificates. The school also conducted 2 ISO50001 energy management certificate training sessions. We successfully assisted 13 companies in Changhua County to complete carbon inventories. |
1. NCUE actively promotes clean energy activities, developing "Solar power systems", which is centered on solar energy. The university conducts free teacher training courses and promotional activities. In the classroom, energy knowledge is combined with interesting DIY teaching aids. Through hands-on and experiential courses, participants make solar-powered smart cars, enhancing learning interest and effectiveness. This achieves the goal of improving participants' awareness of green energy and green energy training, enhancing the professional knowledge of primary and secondary school teachers, and implementing energy education. The university guided the implementation of 3 energy and carbon inventory training courses, training 24 NCUE teachers and students to obtain ISO14064 greenhouse gas inventory certificates. 5. Through the 2024 Cross-District Low-Carbon Transformation Integration Promotion Plan for Industrial Parks, NCUE organized ISO14064-1 certificate courses at Tianzhong Industrial Park and Dali Industrial Park, and an ISO50001 certificate course at the Innovation Incubation Center.
