SDG11.4.6 Pedestrian priority on campus-2021
The National Changhua University of Education Campus Master Plan reviewed and approved by NCUE on 14 February 2017 stipulates that pedestrian walkways should be set up according to the characteristics of each open space, with priority given to pedestrian traffic, and the separation of pedestrians and vehicles should be implemented. For more formal and commemorative spaces, straight footpaths are laid. The footpaths in front of living areas are curved. Pedestrian footpaths take into account the actual connection between buildings, and the footpaths are finally presented as an organic road network to meet actual needs. Materials and construction methods with good water permeability are chosen for the pavements of squares and pedestrian walkways. The footpaths between flowerbeds with low pedestrian traffic are made of permeable materials. This conforms to the spirit of an ecological campus and the concept of green building.
The pedestrian traffic route planning of Bao-shan Campus is shown in the following figure. Automobiles mainly travel on roads around the district, while other areas are planned for only pedestrians.
