SDG7.4.1 Local community outreach for energy efficiency-2021
Through both government-funded and self-funded efforts, NCUE carries out sustained programmes to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and clean energy among residents in the local community and students in neighbouring schools, and implements energy-saving and carbon-saving programmes.
1. In May 2020, NCUE organised the ‘Green Energy in My Home’ programme with supplementary funds from the Environmental Protection Administration, which attracted 151 participants.

2. A session on the theory and practice of repairing home electrical appliances, conducted on October 18 and 19, 2020, under the Ministry of Education’s ‘Industrial and Environmental Sustainability Plan for the Fangyuan and Dacheng Townships in Changhua County’, was attended by 11 participants.

3. A session on the certification for environmental education personnel organised for staff of Houliao Elementary School and conducted in July 2020 under the Ministry of Education’s ‘Industrial and Environmental Sustainability Plan for the Fangyuan and Dacheng Townships in Changhua County’ was attended by 19 participants.

4. NCUE conducts various activities to promote the use of clean energy in 18 elementary schools and universities. These include the ‘Study Camp on Lesson Plans for Solar Photovoltaics’ and the ‘Roving Campaign to Promote Low-carbon Energy’. A photograph of the activities is shown below. We also conduct related undergraduate courses, such as ‘Distributed Power Supply’, ‘Smart Grid’, and ‘Green Energy Technologies’, in various engineering, technical, and vocational institutes.
