SDG6.3.5 Water-conscious planting-2021

The landscape plants cultivated on the two campuses include ixora, garden croton, golden dewdrop, common jasmine orange, Asian copperleaf, lantana, and mock lime. These are mainly drought-tolerant plants, which require less water for irrigation.

Sprinkler irrigation systems are installed on the two campuses (please refer to photo 3 and 4 for the location maps) based on the principles of minimising sprinkler heads and maximising coverage area. The timing of daily sprinkler irrigation is also controlled according to the optimal quantity of water that ensures plant survival. Doing so effectively saves on the total amount of water used to irrigate the landscape plants (see photo 5 and 6).
