SDG 13.2.1 Low carbon energy tracking

1. The low-carbon energy usage at NCUE amounted to 2,385,229 kWh, equivalent to 8,586 GJ. All low-carbon energy utilized by the university is derived exclusively from solar power. (Data Source Analysis: NCUE has installed photovoltaic solar systems with capacities of 2091.375 kWp and 571.5 kWp at Jinde and Baoshan Campuses respectively. Based on the average daily sunlight duration of 3.5 hours in the Changhua region of Taiwan, since its commissioning in mid-April 2023, the total energy production can be calculated as (2091.375+571.5)×365×3.5×8.414/12 = 2,385,229 kWh = 8,586 GJ.)

2. Table 1 presents the statistical data for low-carbon energy usage at NCUE in 2022 and 2023.
