SDG 11.2.3 Public access to museums

NCUE offers exhibition spaces such as the Yi-hui Hall (Baisha Art Center), the College of Extension Education (Art and Culture Corridor), Hong-dao Hall (You Yu Yi Gallery), and the University History Museum. Various exhibitions are held regularly or irregularly throughout the year, and these spaces are open to the public free of charge.

1. Yi-Hui Hall: Baisha Art Center

(1) The Baisha Art Center at NCUE has ample space and comprehensive facilities. It serves as a venue for students in the Department of Fine Arts to present their creations and exhibit their works. Considerable funds are allocated annually to purchase and update equipment and facilities to meet the needs of faculty and students for creation and exhibition. The center regularly invites external artists to exhibit various types of artworks and provides free tours for visitors from both inside and outside the university.

5. Off-Campus Art Exhibitions:

In addition to hosting exhibitions on campus, the faculty and students of the Department of Fine Art regularly curate exhibitions off-campus, bringing their art creations to external venues. In 2023, a total of 29 exhibitions were held off-campus, providing opportunities for the community to appreciate the professional creations of our faculty and students in the Department of Fine Arts (Figure 13). Notably, NCUE collaborated with hospitals in Changhua County to present the "Green Accompanying Ecological Art Exhibition" at the Gavin Russell Memorial Square of Changhua Christian Hospital. This exhibition served as a practical response to the UN’s SDGs on "Climate Action," offering residents green spaces along streets and introducing plants as “green seeds” in the city. This exhibition realized the goals of tree planting for carbon reduction and building an ecological city (Figure 14). Related activity and news links:
