SDG11.4.5 Affordable housing for students
1. There are seven dormitory buildings on campus that can accommodate up to 3,300 students. All buildings have access control to maintain a safe living environment—students have to swipe their cards to enter.
1.1 A total of 79% of the rooms are economical three- to four-person private rooms; 21% are two- or four-person suites. The size of the rooms is 16–29 m2. All rooms have windows and are well ventilated. Each building has a saloon and a reading room with Internet access, air-conditioning, washing machine, dryer, vending machine, etc.
1.2 Each building has night dormitory counselors and self-governing cadres to help students with their issues.
1.3 The cost per semester is NT$ 5,930–9,230 for a private room; NT$ 15,000 for a four-person suite (including rooms for students with disabilities); and NT$ 30,000 for a two-person suite. The cost of a private room on campus is approximately 50% lower than that in the local market; the cost of suites is determined based on the market price.

5. Off-Campus Housing Subsidy
5.1 To further assist financially disadvantaged students, it is ensured that government and school subsidies are provided to students from families whose household income is among the bottom 40%, students from low-income households and low-middle-income households, or financially disadvantaged students. Each such student receives NT$ 2,000–3,000 per month, depending on their county/city. The subsidy also covers the rental of six months per semester; specifically, from August to the next January for the first semester and from February to July for the second semester. In 2021, 76 students received the subsidy, amounting to NT$ 565,200 in total.

6. Off-Campus Housing Support
6.1 In June 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic severely affected the education and life of students in colleges and universities. In response to Covid-19-induced changes, as well as the impact on the financial situation of students’ families, the University provided off-campus housing support for eligible students based on the “Instructions for Colleges/Universities on Applying for Subsidies to Relieve the Impact of COVID-19” issued by the Ministry of Education. Students who lived off-campus and were financially affected by the pandemic were provided a subsidy of NT$ 1,200– 1,800 per month for three months, depending on the severity of their situation. A total of 145 students were granted the subsidy, amounting to NT$ 471,750.
