SDG6.5.1 Water management educational opportunities-2021
NCUE supports the sustainable development of the local environment by helping community residents understand sustainable development goals and effective strategies, and by providing them with professional knowledge on good water management. These are achieved through environmental education classes conducted by our Environmental Education Centre, which endow residents with environmental understanding and awareness. Environmental education certification occurs through core courses lasting 24 and 33 hours, and certification for environmental education personnel occurs through training classes lasting 120 hours. The latter course trains seeding teachers for local environmental education and encourages community members to jointly focus on local environmental issues.
In 2020, our Environmental Education Centre launched the ‘Industrial and Environmental Sustainability Plan for the Fangyuan and Dacheng Townships in Changhua County’. The related activities and themes are summarised below:
