SDG 11.2.3 Public access to museums

The NCUE I-hui Hall (Baisha Art Center), College of Extension Education (Art and Culture Corridor), and University History Museum are open to the public all year round free of charge.

1. I-hui Hall: Baisha Art Center:

(1)The Fine Arts Department has ample space and comprehensive facilities. Each year, considerable funds are allocated to purchase and update instruments and equipment to meet teachers’ and students’ needs for creativity, presentation, and exhibition. Additionally, free tours are provided for visitors from inside and outside the university.

(2)Below are photos of the exhibition space of the I-hui Hall, as shown in Figures 1-3.

(3)In 2022, 11 exhibitions were held at the Baisha Art Center exhibition space and Post-Garden, featuring themes such as graduation exhibitions, experimental exhibitions, and department exhibitions. The exhibition schedule and content are detailed in Figure 3.

2. Educational Building: Art and Culture Corridor:

(1)To provide students with a space to exhibit their work, the College of Extension Education has set up an Art and Culture Corridor on the sixth floor of the Educational Building. Various artists are invited to exhibitions from time to time, extending the office area into an art gallery. The Corridor is open to the public all year round free of charge.

(2)The table below lists the exhibitions organized at the Art and Culture Corridor in 2022, as shown in Table 1.

3. The University History Museum, established in 2011, displays videos and objects worthy of preservation since the school was founded in 1971. It also stores items donated by overseas sister schools. The museum aims to manifest NCUE’s elegant and historical visage. The museum is open to the public all year round free of charge.  Exhibition images from the NCUE History Gallery as shown in Figures 6-9.
